Adults & Family Services

The CNLC provides a variety of educational and training opportunities to help adults achieve greater self-reliance. We also offer family enrichment activities to help build stronger family units.

Services
Online Access
High speed internet access and email accounts are complimentary to all residents. Staff members are available to assist with email set up and use.

Computer Use
Free time is available for exploration and enjoyment of the computer at individual’s own pace and level. A computer-savvy staff member is available to assist with questions and problems during free time.

Individual and group instruction in the following areas:
Monthly calendar will reflect any classes and activities or contact staff for more information.

Microsoft Office 2007
Starting May 3  Monday & Wednesday             9:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

Free Microsoft Word 2007 classes will be taught at the Community Network Learning Center starting May 3 Microsoft Word, is a word-processing program which can be used to create correspondence including letters, memos, faxes, reports, charts, and newsletters.  In addition to learning to create documents, students will learn to import and add graphics to documents.  You will also learn to edit, make corrections, and preview your work.  Word allows you to quickly prepare and edit clean, professional looking documents which are expected in today’s workplace.

GED Classes

 

Free GED Classes are currently being held at the Community Network Learning Center. Classes are provided through a  partnership with Calhoun Community College. GED classes allow adult learners to complete their high school education through classes that will allow them to prepare for the GED exam. Classes are held Monday and Tuesday nights from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Family Dinner

 

Residents and current participants in CNLC programs are invited to attend a FREE family dinner on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and staff and for participants to socialize with peers.

 

You must sign-up for this dinner in the Oxford Townhomes/Valley Garden Office or at the CNLC. Deadline for sign-up is Tuesday, August 3 at 5:00 p.m.

 

Join us for a great meal, good conversation, and an enjoyable evening with old and new friends.
