Children and Youth

The Community Network Learning Center (CNLC) provides opportunities for youth to improve educational, computer, and social skills in a safe, fun environment.

Children's Programs  The CNLC provides a variety of classes and activities to children, ages 5—12, including homework assistance, computer, nutrition, and social skills classes, drug free living, and much more.  We also offer a variety of social activities including holiday activities, games, and field trips.

 

Teen Programs The CNLC provides opportunities for homework assistance, computer classes, and job skills preparation for teens, ages 13—18.  We also provide SAT practice, assistance with college and financial aid applications, college entry essays, and resume preparation.
 

Preschool Activities. Although we have no organized preschool program, we do periodically have activities designed for this age group. Past activities have included story hour, finger printing, holiday activities, crafts, and more.


Ongoing Programs

 

Computer Use
Free time is available for exploration and enjoyment of the computer and internet at individual’s own pace and level. A staff member is available to assist with questions and problems during free time.

 

All youth seeking use of the computer lab FOR ANY REASON must have a signed Parental Permission To Use Computer form on record.  No form—No computer!

 

Individual and group instruction in the following areas:

 

Basic Computer

Microsoft Office

Resume Preparation

College Applications

SAT/ACT  Prep


Monthly calendar available at CNLC will reflect classes and activities.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Summer Youth Program 2010

For the months of June and July, the CNLC will have a variety of activities available for youth during the day. There WILL NOT be a full day or every day schedule. Activities will include supervised computer access, playground time, guest speakers, story time, Wii Games, and arts and crafts.

All youth must have a completed registration form on file with the CNLC in order to participate in any activity. These will be available in the Oxford Townhomes/Valley Garden Leasing Office and the CNLC starting May 10, 2010.
